This will be the platform where we will put up our completed projects for the naturalist badge. Please do take this seriously and put aside time for its completion. Let's say the due date should be no more than Term 4 Week 6, which is the last week of EOY. This will allow for time for testing of theory knowledge post EOY before school closes.
Your scope of plant or animal can be specific, focusing on only one species like the Yellow Vented Bulbul, or a wider range of similar species such as the various dragonflies that live in Singapore.
You should try to visit your place of study about 2 to 3 times. Here are some places I can recommend such that it will be convenient for you no matter where you live in Singapore. In the West you can find Bukit Timah and Bukit Batok quite convenient, as well as Tengah (the area called Hong Kah Restricted/Reserve Area on Google Maps) quite good if you're adventurous. There is also the section of Clementi Woods easily accessible via the now removed railway track that you can enter via Holland Road or Mayfair Park. In the north you have sungei buloh and the mandai mudflats as mangrove habitats, or if you prefer the forest there is Mandai Road and its surroundings. There is also a stretch of vacant plains along Canberra Road which is quite rich in bird life. If you live in the east, as I recall a number of you do, Changi Beach and the entire Changi Coast Road stretch along the airport perimeter is good. Pasir Ris Park has convenient access to Sungei Api Api as well as seagrass lagoons, although Changi beach has better ones. If you are adventurous the areas around Seletar and Punggol are good as well. If you live more in the central areas your best bet would be the central catchment reserve, which can be access in many ways or if you prefer something different Bukit Brown Cemetery, which is great for birdlife.
